30HR EMBODIED FACILITATION & COMMUNITY PRACTICE (EFCP)

A transformative practice-based module to develop, embody and hone your skills in trauma-informed facilitation. It will equip you with the tools to take yoga and body-based practices effectively and respectfully into community settings, and build communities of care and communities of practice.

This 30hr training can be taken stand-alone or as part of our 100hr Certification in Trauma-Informed Yoga & Embodied Social Change.

This training has the prerequisites of our 30hr Trauma-Informed Yoga Foundations and 30hr Yoga, Social Justice & Spirit modules.

What Will I Learn

This training will equip you with knowledge, practice and skills in:

Deepening your capacity for holding space with an embodied trauma-informed approach: embodied facilitator qualities, self-regulation and attunement, embodied boundary and relational work, compassionate communication.

Practicing and honing your trauma-informed yoga facilitation skills: adapting asana and yoga practices, trauma-informed languaging and communication skills, resourcing, titration and interoception.

Designing and developing responsive yoga programming for a wide variety of different groups and community settings.

Learning how to collaborate and build partnerships with community services and other organisations.

Professional skills, ethics, personal transformation and leadership.

Creating communities of care and communities of practice.

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR

This transformative practice program is designed for:

Existing or in-training yoga teachers wishing to deepen skills in teaching trauma-informed and accessible yoga in studio and community settings.

Community and health professionals wishing to incorporate yoga, body-based and mindfulness practices with an embodied trauma-informed approach into their existing work or therapeutic practice.

Social justice advocates, community and cultural change leaders wishing to engage embodied trauma-informed approaches and leadership.

Prerequisites: 30hr Trauma-Informed Yoga Foundations and 30hr Yoga, Social Justice & Spirit.

This training expects a basic level of personal familiarity with yoga practice, and involves basic yoga facilitation practice and class planning which are required for those wishing to receive certification. 

Please note: This training does not qualify you to teach full yoga classes or programs. You will need to complete a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training qualification if you wish to do this. We regret we are currently not offering our 200hr YTT program due to COVID.

ATTENDANCE & CERTIFICATION

Because we are passionate about engaged and collaborative learning, our online trainings are live (not pre-recorded). This is to support your own learning, engagement and integration, and to build a strong community of learning and social change.

To receive certification and be eligible for CEU you must complete live attendance of a minimum of 80% of the live learning sessions for this module. You must also complete all required learning activities, which are part of your course hours.

This program offers CEU with Yoga Alliance for existing yoga teachers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the weekly time commitment?

The weekly time commitment is approximately six hours per week over five weeks, which includes two x 2-hour live sessions, plus additional readings, learning activities, and reflections.

Are the live online sessions recorded?

Yes, all the live sessions are recorded and available for review and download on our course platform.

How long do I have access to the course platform?

For each module, you have access to the course platform for six months after the final session of the module.

Can I download course materials to keep?

Yes, you can download all course materials and recordings either directly from the course platform or via our Google Drive folder.

Does this certification qualify me as a yoga teacher?

This certification does not qualify you as a yoga teacher or to teach full yoga classes and programs. You will need to complete a certified 200hr yoga teacher training program if you are wishing to do this. What is your cancellation/refund policy?

For online trainings: full refunds are given for any cancellations 7 days or more prior to course start, less a $50AU administration fee. For cancellations after the period of 7 days prior to course start, no refunds will be given and any outstanding payments must still be made in full, with exceptions for extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the organiser.

For in-person trainings: payment must be made in full 30 days prior to course start date or upon registration (if within 30 days prior to course start). For cancellations more than 30 days prior to course start, full refunds will be given, less a $50AU administration fee. For cancellations 15-30 days prior to course start, 50% refunds will be given less a $50AU administration fee. For cancellations less than 15 days prior to program start, no refunds will be given and any outstanding payments must still be made in full, except in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the program provider.

In the unlikely event of program cancellation by Yoga for Humankind, options will be provided for either full refund or deferring your place to a future program where available.
