WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR

This program is designed for anyone interested in exploring and integrating the intersections of spirituality, social justice, indigenous wisdom, trauma-informed practice and embodied social change. It is a journey of learning, healing and homecoming – for our personal and collective wellbeing.

In particular, this is essential learning for:

Yoga teachers and practitioners wishing to explore the fundamental connections between yoga, social justice and indigenous wisdom: to understand your own place, practice and role, to share yoga that is truly honouring, inclusive and culturally aware, and to be part of creating embodied social change within an inspired global community.

Community and health professionals interested in the intersections of trauma healing, spirituality, and social justice, to create authentic, culturally safe and embodied practices and spaces for personal and collective wellbeing and equity.

Social justice and community activists wishing to deepen in embodied and spirit-centred practice, and explore alternative ways of being, doing and changemaking from the wisdom of yoga, indigenous traditions and pleasure activism.

There are no prerequisites or prior knowledge required to join this program, all are welcome.

TESTIMONIALS

This short training has given me some insights into my own healing , opened my eyes to trauma I have experienced that has been under the carpet for many years. If I can develop ways to find my way toward healing, I’m on my way to assisting others to do the same. Thank You for this opportunity to move forward.

An insightful training that was held in a safe virtual space with an incredibly supportive community. Mei Lei & Jarmbi's knowledge shone through and the format of the course using break out rooms worked really well. A chance to have deeper conversations with other participants was most welcome. The guest speakers added a layer to the course that felt perfectly in sync with the aims and objectives. Vibrant discussions both current and valuable to where we are now.

Thank you so much! I loved the course, reflections, activities and hearing from a variety of speakers and connecting to land, culture and people. This course is a must for anyone who would like a foundation in social justice and spirit - I have found it so useful to connect to ancestry and culture in the way it was delivered. Learning through storytelling has been sensational. Thank you!

Module 2, especially all the guest sessions, was very informative, thought provoking and inspirational. I felt the nudge I needed to get back on track, to continue to connect with my community, and to act on my convictions without necessarily being tied to the outcome.

This course moved me and changed me in unexpected ways. I learnt so much about connecting to my ancestors, to the earth, to embodying the change I wish to see in the world and concepts of social justice. Taking this course was work though- I had to peel back layers, but I feel I've come away from the learning, changed for the better, so the work is not without the reward, a reward that benefits me, those I come into contact with it and the environmental issues I feel empowered to transform. Thank you Yoga for Human Kind.
