Click here to read why trauma-informed yoga is for everybody, and find out more about our integrated approach to trauma-informed yoga and embodied social change.
Do I have to be a yoga teacher to join your programs?
No, our programs are open to anyone with an interest in trauma-informed yoga and / or embodied social change, whether personally or professionally. For our public programs, all are welcome, with no prior experience needed. For our professional trainings, it is recommended that you have some personal yoga experience, as parts of the training are focused on yoga facilitation skills, and you will need to complete all components if you wish to receive certification.
What kind of jobs do people do that participate in your trainings?
People join our trainings from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, including yoga teachers, social workers, educators, community and health professionals, therapists, corporate leaders, social entrepreneurs, social justice advocates, activists and cultural change leaders.
Does this training make me a yoga teacher?
No, our 30hr and 100hr trainings do not qualify you as a yoga teacher. They are designed as personal and/or professional development training. If you wish to become a certified yoga teacher, you will need to complete a minimum 200hr yoga teacher training qualification. Unfortunately we are currently not offering our 200hr YTT due to COVID.
As a community worker/social worker/health professional, how can I apply these skills to my job?
Our trainings will transform how you understand your clients, the systems and experiences they live with, and how you can best support them through trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice. You will also learn a variety of embodiment and mindfulness practices that can be used for self-care or shared with clients to support self-regulation, healing and resilience.
